<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>AFIMAC Canada </strong>is currently hiring <strong><em>Personal Support <span >Workers/Developmental</span> Service Workers </em></strong>for upcoming positions in Southwestern Ontario.</p><p>Successful candidates must be willing to work 84 hours per week and must be willing to travel and live away from home when required (accommodations and daily meal per diem will be provided).</p><p>***Please note this is a temporary contract position, so it may not be suitable to someone currently working full time***</p><p><strong>You will earn:</strong></p><ul><li>$27.50 per hour before overtime</li><li>$30 per day non-taxed meal allowance (when lodging required)</li><li>Hotel Accommodations Provided (when required)</li><li>Temporary Contract: 1-120 days</li></ul><p><strong>Experience:</strong></p><p>Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional personal care and customer service.</p><p><strong>Physical capabilities:</strong></p><p>Able to stand, bend, walk, crouch, kneel and reach freely and for extended periods; able to lift 23 kilograms independently; able to assist clients with standing, walking, sitting; able to re-position clients in bed.</p><p><strong>Basic Duties of AFIMAC PSW&#39;s include but are not limited to:</strong></p><ul><li>Work with Individual Support Plans, Positive Behavioural Support Plans and/or any other plan set forth specific to the client.</li><li>Complete all required paperwork and documentation daily</li><li>Provide care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities</li><li>Provides personal care for residents including all activities of daily living to ensure their optimum physical, social and emotional well-being.</li></ul><p><strong>Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Strong written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills</li><li>Ability to work both independently and in a team environment</li><li>Proven skills to appropriately manage crisis situations</li><li>PSW or DSW <span >certificate/diploma</span> preferred</li><li><strong>EASNS, ABS, C&Y, ECE, Rec Therapy, SSW, Social Worker or experience as a PSW accepted</strong></li><li>Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities <strong>(preferred)</strong></li><li>Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training <strong>(preferred)</strong></li><li>1-year experience using mechanical lifts and transfer <strong>(preferred)</strong></li><li>Current vulnerable sector search within 6 months or willing to obtain <strong>(mandatory)</strong></li><li>Valid First Aid/CPR certificate or willing to obtain <strong>(mandatory)</strong></li><li>Proficiency in English, both written and verbal required</li><li>Able and willing to work 12-hour shifts, 7 days per week while on assignment </li><li>A Canadian resident and/or legally allowed to work full-time hours within Canada .</li></ul><p><strong><em>Experience:</em></strong></p><ul><li>PSW/DSW: 1 year (preferred)</li><li>EASNS, ABS, C&Y, ECE, Rec Therapy, SSW or Social Worker or Experience as a PSW accepted</li></ul><p>AFIMAC is a global risk management and elite security company.
