<p>Overview CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST IN OLD AGE PSYCHIATRY based at Queen Margaret Hospital Dunfermline Hospital Inpatient Mental Health Service (1 post) Permanent appointment – Full time (10 PAs). This is an exciting opportunity for a committed clinician to join our dedicated team within NHS Fife working in old age psychiatry West Fife Inpatient Mental Health Team covering West Fife. This is a full time post (10 sessions) with close working relationships with the OA community MH team also in Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline. Interviews will be held on Thursday 4th December 2025.<br/>To work in the United Kingdom, there is a legal requirement for an individual to demonstrate that they have the relevant permission to work in the country. More information on permission routes is available on GOV.UK.<br/>Responsibilities Work in collaboration with other professionals and agencies within the West Fife Inpatient Mental Health Team and the Old Age (OA) community MH team at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline.<br/>Full-time post (10 sessions) with potential flexible working arrangements as discussed with the candidate.<br/>Lead and manage change within the service and contribute to development of the non-medical workforce amid medical staffing challenges.<br/>Support multidisciplinary team colleagues’ professional development; participate in CPD and peer supervision. Consultant peer groups meet regularly and there are regular educational events as part of the in-house programme.<br/>Contribute to strategic planning and service improvement to provide high-quality care for the Older People of Fife.<br/>Qualifications Fully registered medical practitioners with MRCPsych or equivalent, and an appropriate CCT (or be eligible for inclusion within 6 months of the interview date).<br/>Interest in pursuing specialist registration through the CESR process; support available to acquire this.<br/>Willingness to discuss alternative working patterns to align with interests, experience and talents.<br/>Eligibility to work in the UK It is essential to have the right to work in the UK before submitting an application.
