Role Overview
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the


Buyer

will work indirectly with Project Management, Operations and Design Engineers to ensure project goals are met on budget. The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating and purchasing all goods and services to meet the Company’s operational requirements. The Buyer is the Purchasing subject matter expert and interacts with functional teams across the organization to support successful customer delivery. This is a fast-paced position requiring the ability to manage competing priorities and a high level of attention to detail. .

The Buyer job responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Technical:
Research, source, select and purchase quality products and material
Responsible for inventory control, purchasing information and system accuracy
Custodian of the Supply Chain for tools, techniques and technology to support growth
Process requisitions and manage POs for delivery
Responsible for managing inbound supply and supporting change as required
Key influencer for implementing change and technology as it relates to supply chain
Manage development and communication of weekly, monthly and quarterly metrics and business reviews
Generate high-value purchase orders and ensure that all purchases are properly approved and consistent with company policies and procedures
Implement and maintain department procedures and standards
Recommend Eclipse Data Base improvements on an ongoing basis to increase efficiency throughout the company


Project Execution:
Development of the Supplier base and related tools that meet project timing, inventory and customer delivery targets
Build relationships with suppliers, develop partnerships and negotiate for best cost solutions
Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external groups
Must be self-motivated and lead by example with a positive attitude and outlook
Foster the development of a culture reflective of the core values of the business
Travel:
Expectation of travel to Eclipse locations is less than 20% of the time; however may be exceeded in exceptional circumstances to meet organizational needs
Qualifications:
Education:
Completion of either a University Degree or College Diploma in Materials Management, Business Management or a Purchasing / Administration for Businesses related program, or equivalent experience

Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Production Planning, Buying, Master Scheduler, Operations Manager, Production Manager, Commodity management
Excellent communication and analytical skills. Ability to assess qualitative and quantitative information to formulate an analysis complete with recommendations that will positively impact cost, process or delivery
Strong relationship management skills
Highly organized, self-starter
APICS CPIM and/or CSCP Certification preferred
Lean Manufacturing Experience preferred
ERP system experience
Must be proficient at using MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
High attention to detail
Ability to exercise discretion and manage a high level of confidentiality
Demonstrated change agent
