Position Description About the Job: Reporting to the Project Manager the Site Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring the project is completed safely and that all budget, scheduling, and quality control requirements have been satisfied. The Site Superintendent will assist in project tendering, estimating, planning and scheduling of various projects and must demonstrate a solid understanding of overall project supervision, coordination, and scheduling. Plans, schedules and supervises all on-site construction activity including the supervision and enforcement of safe work practices per company’s policies and procedures, and legislative requirements; Prepares and updates schedules, look-ahead and completion timelines; Prepares and submits daily and monthly reports; Ensures the maintenance of up-to-date plans, specifications, RFI’s, inspection reports, and contract documents; Ensures all work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and the company’s quality control policies; Supervises and coordinates the procurement of construction materials ensuring timely delivery and accuracy of purchasing; Provides technical input on the preparation of scopes of work and contract documents; Reviews payment certificates, final payment certificates, and all extra-work orders per contract documents; Maintains job diaries, logs, and site photos for proper site documentation; Assist in project estimating duties as required; Ensure project goals for safety, quality, budget, schedule as well as profitability are met; Supervise, direct, coach and train Assistant Superintendents, Coordinators, Field Engineers, Surveyors, Students, Hourly Foreman and Hourly staff assigned to project. Develop and maintain positive client relations (owner, clients, consultants, public); Establish and maintain an excellent relationship with subcontractors and suppliers; Position Requirements Experience 5 years of progressive ICI construction experience; Experience in bridge construction, civil construction projects and foundation work is preferred Understanding of construction industry standards and operations (i.e., construction specifications, building materials, methods and procedures); Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Knowledge and experience working with various tools and equipment; Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro, AutoCAD Viewer and Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, Project, Outlook) is preferred; Intermediate mathematical skills; Team management, including assessing and providing feedback on job performance to sub-trades; Problem solving / conflict resolution and sound decision-making skills; Ability to visualize the entire project, anticipate issues and implement solutions in collaboration with Project Managers; Attention to detail, specifically quality control to minimize deficiencies in real-time; Time management and organizational skills to ensure project deadlines are met; Strong oral and written communication skills, including active listening and interpersonal skills; Work well in a fast pace and high-pressure environment; Working knowledge of scheduling, project management and contract software; Equal Opportunity Employer We are an equal opportunity employer.
