Senior Electrical Engineer

DAY BY DAY:Insight Global is looking for a Sr. High-Voltage Lab Engineer to join one of our clients located in Vancouver, BC. This is a permanent, full-time role that would require you to be on-site. The successful candidate should possess a P.Eng license within British Columbia, or immediately available to transfer to British Columbia. They should also possess a minimum of 8-years of experience, specifically working with high-voltage equipment (up to 1600 KV of AC testing and 1000 KV of DC testing), and should be a strong problem solver with proven troubleshooting ability. In the role, the successful candidate will also be writing proposals for clients, understanding how long the commissioning/testing will take, the costs involved, and ensure that the High-Voltage Technicians can know how to complete the testing. They will also be working with impulse generators, remote test stations, drive system testing, and high-voltage AC and DC testing. They should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills.MUST HAVES: – 8-years of experience working within Electrical Engineering (high-voltage)- Must possess and P.Eng license- Must have a valid drivers license- High level of troubleshooting and problem solving skills. Not afraid to get hands dirty- Experience working with high-voltage equipment of up to 1600 kV of Alternating Current and 1000 kV of Direct Current testing- Experience writing proposals and overseeing that commissioning from start to finish- Must be in-line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 17025
