Summary of Responsibilities:

As a Senior Buyer Level II at Wilcox Bodies, you will play a key role in our procurement process by overseeing the sourcing and purchasing of materials and components essential for our manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for developing strategic sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring efficient procurement practices.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of procurement in the manufacturing industry, strong negotiation skills, and a proven track record of driving cost savings and operational excellence.



The Senior Buyer must promote and maintain a high level of communication with both the internal departments and external Vendors. It is expected that this position displays professionalism and conducts business with the best interest of Wilcox Group of Companies in mind while following strong ethical and purchasing principles.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:



1.

Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to optimize costs, quality, and delivery of materials and components.


2. Identify, evaluate, and select vendors based on quality, reliability, pricing, and service capabilities.



3.

Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with vendors to achieve favorable pricing, payment terms, and lead times.


4. Analyze market trends, vendor performance, and industry best practices to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.



5.

Manage vendor relationships, including conducting vendor evaluations, addressing issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.


6. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements throughout the procurement process.



7.

Mentor and provide guidance to junior procurement staff, fostering their professional development and growth.


8. Lead Purchasing personnel to expedite all Vendor deliverables, including goods, services and documents as required.



9.

Work closely with Production Management and Design to review material requirements and ensure daily communication between Purchasing and Production on all delays or issues regarding Delivery on Time targets.


10. Liaise with Production, Quality and Vendors to resolve non-conformances and Vendor Returns.



11.

Understanding of the financial system, invoicing/milestone payments, levels of authority, ethics, compliance, integrity controls.


12. Ensure the flow of all of documents required to render invoices proper for payment.



13.

Initiate Engineering Change Requests on obsolete and new sources of supply and contribute to ECR/ECN process as required.


14. Other related duties as assigned.

Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP systems).


Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop junior team members.


Excellent organizational and communication skills

Impeccable attention to detail


Comprehensive understanding of MS Office, and industry standard ERP/MRP platforms

Ability to read technical drawings including BOMs and CAD


Strong drive and time management skills

Job Knowledge or Work Experience:


Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on strategic sourcing and vendor management in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge of competitive bidding best practices


Working with internal and external stakeholders to support plan for future to meet business goals

Strong knowledge of supply chain and manufacturing processes


Solid industry knowledge and understanding of relevant product lines

Ability to listen and communicate concisely and effectively


Strong business sense and industry expertise

Knowledge of Incoterms, and other activities related to local and global purchasing and logistics



Education:


Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Professional certifications (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) preferred



Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Working in a production/shop environment


Occasional lifting required

Wears all required PPE


Regular exposure to noise/temperature and/or adverse weather conditions/work outside

Regular working schedule, day shift


Additional Job Requirements:

May be required to work outside of normal working days and hours


Job Types: Full-time, Permanent



Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
