<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Commissionaires BC is looking for a Security Supervisor to work at a outreach shelter in Vernon. Candidates who are interested or have worked with at-risk and vulnerable individuals would be ideal. <br><br>Shifts: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm<br />Payrate: $24.00</strong></p><p><strong>Some of your responsibilities include:</strong></p><ul><li>Foot patrols of residential building, interior and exterior</li><li>Maintaining a safe environment for all, handling any crisis situations in a calm and controlled manner</li><li>Offering first class customer service to the client, service users and members of the public</li><li>Work with and respect the diverse community of Kelowna, supporting and guiding where needed</li><li>Access Control</li><li>Proactively responding to and resolving emergency situations and conflicts</li><li>Maintaining detailed and accurate daily logs and incident reports</li><li>Effectively communicating problems or concerns to the Site Supervisor</li><li>Maintain up-to-date Post Orders and Site Safety, Risk, and Quality Assurance assessments</li><li>Submit reports, time sheets, and staff evaluations as per deadlines</li><li>Assist with training and scheduling of Commissionaires</li><li>Leading through empowerment, and monitoring staff morale, discipline, and progress</li><li>Ensure team maintains a professional standard of conduct, dress and deportment</li><li>Reporting to the site supervisor and operations management for further duties as necessary</li></ul><p><strong>Your Must Haves …</strong></p><ul><li>Valid BC Security License</li><li>Basic First Aid Certificate (OFA 1 or equivalent) </li><li>Excellent English oral and written skills</li><li>Previous supervisory experience would be an asset</li></ul><p><strong>What’s in it for you?</strong></p><ul><li>Gain valuable experience as a stepping stone into a law enforcement career</li><li>Competitive hourly wages</li><li>Chance to work at high profile site</li><li>Free uniforms</li><li>Training and support to succeed in your role</li></ul><p><strong>You’re a good fit if you have…</strong></p><ul><li>Demonstrated interest and experience in serving the public</li><li>Positive and professional attitude, with strong customer service skills</li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Office, and equipment such as faxes and photocopiers</li><li>Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills</li><li>Ability to handle emergency situations in a calm and professional manner</li><li>Excellent multi-tasking, prioritizing, and organizational abilities</li><li>Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure</li><li>Able to conduct extensive foot patrols both indoors and outdoors in a range of weather conditions</li></ul><p><strong>Our Story</strong></p><p>Commissionaires BC is a Canadian, not-for-profit <span >security/enforcement</span> organization that has been in business since 1927.
