*Job Description*

We are looking for a pharmacist with strong communication and leadership skills to join our growing dispensary team in Calgary. You will be responsible for maintaining safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical prescriptions.

The Pharmacy Manager will report directly to the Director of Specialty Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Manager is an integral member of the pharmacy team and works with the Senior Manager and the Director in the overall compliance, operations, management, and planning of pharmacy services. A significant role of the Pharmacy Manager is the inter-departmental collaboration on projects with Specialty Services, Consulting, Patient Support Programs, and Distribution.

*Duties and Responsibilities:*

* Assist, manage, and coordinate daily pharmacy operations and activities.
* Develop relationships with health care providers and patients and build on current relationships;
* Ensure all prescriptions are dispensed in accordance with pharmacy regulations and company policies in order to provide the highest level of pharmaceutical care for patients;
* Ensure proper accounting on billing and reconciliation
* Establish and maintain relations with internal and external clients, stakeholders, and all staff on site
* Help to drive operational improvements;
* Maintain accreditation with the Provincial College of Pharmacy
* Provide patient counseling on specialty medications
* Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy assistants in the day to day operation of the Specialty Pharmacy
* Support, coach and coordinate the activities of pharmacy technicians and assistants in the day-to-day operation of the Pharmacy;
* Participating and leading project implementations, including procedures, training, KPI monitoring, etc.;
* Coordinating and liaising with internal and external clients and consultants in the implementation of initiatives and services;
* Develop/build relationships with health care providers and patients in order to drive additional services and business opportunities;
* Actively educate and act as a resource for launching and executing educational/coaching programs for Chronic Disease Management including protocols and documentation forms;
* Developing Clinical Verification forms for Specialty Medications aimed at improving patient safety and education and providing documentation for clinical monitoring;
* Aggregating Data from company clinical services documents (Adherence, Med Reviews, smoking cessation, and Diabetes Programs, etc.) for the purpose of compiling outcomes and measuring program effectiveness;

*EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:*

* Successful completion of a B.Sc. Pharmacy degree or higher
* Current registration with the College of Pharmacy Part A;
* Excellent knowledge of pharmacy operations and legislation
* Minimum of 5 years experience in retail, hospital, healthcare, pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry;
* A high degree of accuracy and very high attention to detail are essential
* Relevant experience to oversee operational personnel in the pharmacy;
* Candidate must have strong communication, customer service, interpersonal and time management skills;
* Strong business acumen and an interest to working in an innovative practice;
* Proven ability to organize time, set priorities and multi-task in order to meet various competing work deadlines;
* Understanding of cold chain distribution practices
* Working knowledge of Kroll;
* Strong understanding of Third Party billing and contracts
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, PowerPoint);
* Knowledge of pharmacy regulations across Canada is an asset
* Bilingualism, French/English is an asset.

*What you bring to the organization:*

* Pharmacist in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacists (Part of the Public Register)
* Injection Training required
* Minimum 2 years’ experience working in retail pharmacy
* Kroll experience preferred
* Excellent communication skills and documentation practices
* Experience in dispensing of biologics/biosimilars/specialty medications
* Strong understanding of third-party billing
* Ability to organize time, set priorities and multi-task in order to meet various competing work deadlines
* Maintaining the utmost integrity and having passion towards pharmaceutical operations.
* Critical thinker who is a creative problem solver
* Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
* Proficient in Microsoft (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint) Office Programs

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $55.00-$58.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
