Manual Machinist-hydraulics equipment

Job Description

Our client is a leader in the Greater Toronto Area for the supply and repair of hydraulic equipment. They are seeking a skilled general machinist to grow their hydraulic cylinder manufacturing and repair business unit.<BR>Duties:<BR> Performing machining tasks by using engineering sketches or verbal instructions<BR> Computing dimensions within tolerances to lay out work for fabrication<BR> Making precision measurements using precision measuring instruments and techniques<BR> Disassembly and assembly of components, fit aligning and adjusting components to precise tolerances<BR> Setting up jigs, fixtures or machine attachments required for complex precision parts and equipment<BR> Determining tooling requirements, setup procedures and control settings based on requirements<BR> lathe, mill, grinder operation<BR> Usage of material handling equipment<BR> Inspects work pieces at beginning of and throughout production run to insure part meets tolerance requirements<BR> Inspects and understands when to replace cutting tools<BR> Demonstrates ability to effectively use all necessary measuring tools in order to assure conformance to print<BR> Maintain a safe working and good housekeeping practices<BR> Works effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment<BR> Flexibility and Communication skills are very important<BR> Works well in a team as well as independently<BR>Qualifications:<BR> Community college graduation plus completion of a recognized machinist apprenticeship program and Ontario Machinist Certificate of Qualification<BR> Thorough knowledge of machining methods and shop mathematics<BR> Ability to compute dimensions, tapers, cutting angles, tool settings, feed rates and machine speeds<BR> Ability to operate manual equipment with a minimum of three years of experience<BR> Ability to multitask<BR> English verbal and written communication<BR> Willingness to work Overtime, weekends, or Flexible Work Schedules as needed
