Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is hands-on and requires strong technical expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining automated machinery in a regulated manufacturing environment.</p><p>This is a permanent, full-time opportunity to join a growing team and directly support JY Care’s commitment to high-quality Canadian manufacturing.</p><p><strong>POSITION DESCRIPTION</strong></p><p>The Maintenance Technician is responsible for:</p><p> Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting</p><ul><li>Perform corrective and preventive maintenance according to standards and schedules.</li><li>Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and system problems based on test results, error messages, and operator feedback.</li><li>Repair and maintain production equipment to ensure consistent operating efficiency.</li><li>Collect and document repair/maintenance data and ensure proper follow-up actions are taken.</li></ul><p></p><p>Preventive Maintenance (PM) & Utilities</p><ul><li>Plan, schedule, and carry out preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.</li><li>Oversee and perform routine checks, maintenance, and repairs for production-related utilities, including water, electricity, compressed air, gas, and related systems.</li></ul><p></p><p>Spare Parts Inventory & Budgeting</p><ul><li>Monitor, maintain, and replenish spare parts inventory.</li><li>Prepare and manage the annual spare parts budget.</li><li>Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of parts and materials.</li></ul><p></p><p>Documentation & Compliance</p><ul><li>Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and PM schedules according to ISO 13485 and GMP SOP requirements.</li><li>Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications.</li><li>Support compliance with regulatory standards in a clean room manufacturing environment.</li></ul><p></p><p>Technical Support & Operations</p><ul><li>Support installation, set-up, and programming of equipment.</li><li>Provide demonstrations of equipment operation for new machine operators.</li><li>Communicate safety, control, and operating features of equipment in a clear and concise manner.</li></ul><p></p><p>Health, Safety & Continuous Improvement</p><ul><li>Communicate potential mechanical hazards to team leads.</li><li>Ensure adherence to safe work practices and company procedures.</li><li>Continuously develop technical skills to stay current on equipment and processes.</li><li>Recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and systems.</li><li>Assist with other duties as required.</li></ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>Required Qualifications</p><ul><li>Post-secondary education required.</li><li>College or University program in electro-mechanical and/or automation preferred.</li><li>Experience operating automated machines and troubleshooting <span >mechanical/electrical/technical</span> issues.</li><li>Strong ability to diagnose and repair complex issues with minimal supervision.</li><li>Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.</li><li>Proficiency with hand tools.</li><li>Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to new technologies.</li></ul><p></p><p>Preferred Qualifications</p><ul><li>Experience with ultrasonic welding.</li><li>Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (healthcare, food, pharma, or NHP).</li><li>Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese is considered a strong asset.</li></ul><p></p><p>CORE COMPETENCIES: </p><ul><li><strong>Technical Expertise: </strong>Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing <span >mechanical/electrical</span> issues in automated equipment.</li><li><strong>Problem-Solving: </strong>Strong analytical ability to diagnose complex issues and implement effective solutions.</li><li><strong>Health & Safety: </strong>Committed to maintaining a safe, compliant, and efficient workplace.</li><li><strong>Adaptability: </strong>Willingness to learn new technologies and processes in a fast-paced environment.</li><li><strong>Communication: </strong>Able to clearly explain equipment functions, safety features, and hazards to colleagues.</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>At JY Care, you’ll be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team dedicated to developing innovative, sustainable health and wellness products. Shifts follow the production schedule:</li></ul><p>o Day Shift: 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.</p><p>o Afternoon Shift: 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.</p><p>o Overtime or on-call duties may be required in special circumstances.</p><ul><li><strong>Compensation:</strong> $25—28/hour, with flexibility based on experience.</li><li><strong>Bonus: </strong> Employees may be eligible for an annual bonus, based on performance and achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs).</li><li><strong>Working Conditions:</strong></li></ul><p>o Masks and Natural Health Products are produced in an industrial clean room. </p><p>o Full PPE required (hair cover, mask, gown, gloves, shoe covers, etc.)</p><p>o Noise protection provided</p><p>o Standing, bending, reaching, carrying, lifting up to 50 lbs required</p><p>o Warehouse environment</p></p></p>
