Maintenance Person – Temporary

The City is seeking a Maintenance Person – Temporary to work varying shifts with the Planning, Development & Recreation department. The ideal candidate will be able to works days, evening, nights, and weekends. Will be responsible to work within the recreation facilities and outdoor pools. The candidate will perform set up and tear downs for events held within the different facilities. The Maintenance Person will be responsible for performing ice resurfacing in both facilities. The candidate will perform janitorial work on a regular basis. The position is required to work indoors and outdoors on a daily basis. The successful applicants will be required to pass a certified Pool Operators course within 6 months of obtaining the position.  

• Interested candidates must have completed a minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent ;
• Must have a valid class “G’ drivers license;
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision at times;
• Ability to operate various pieces of equipment such as Forklift, Ice Resurfacing Machine and Corporate Vehicles, 
• Basic understanding of facilities maintenance that would include plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, light electrical work, H.V.A.C , ice-making equipment and janitorial work;
• Basic understanding of swimming pool systems would be considered an asset; 
• Basic understanding and experience in the use of computer programs such as Excel, Word, Email and Facility Control Programs
