<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><p><strong>Law Clerk – Civil Litigation and Family Law</strong></p><p><strong>Job description</strong></p><p>Our client is a highly respected Canadian downtown Toronto boutique law firm. They are currently seeking a Law Clerk with 3+ years experience in Civil Litigation and Family Law.</p><p></p><p></p><p><strong>Your new role</strong></p><p>In this new role you will be responsible for Drafting documents, including pleadings, orders, briefs, conformations, and other court documents, correspondence, and other legal documents preparing files/documents for meetings, service and filing with the court. You will also be responsible for Intake including communicating with Potential New Firm Clients and Firm lawyers as well as maintaining contact and positive rapport with clients. Schedule meetings, conference calls and work with lawyers in management of calendars and deadlines. Mediation, Arbitration and Trial preparation. You will also be required to keep informed on court notices, new polices, Rules and legislation, and providing updated communications to lawyers. In addition to your role, you will also Prepare books of authority, affidavits, financial statements, NFP statements, Divorcemate calculations, disclosure briefs.</p><p></p><p><strong>What you will need to succeed</strong></p><p>To be considered for this position, you must be a team player who thrives in an environment that offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic group of individuals both independently and as part of a team. You possess excellent organizational skills, with high attention to detail, and must have the ability to multitask, all of which will assist you in working in this high volume, fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are also a must for dealing effectively with clients, lawyers, and professionals in the interests of our clients. You possess solid knowledge of the Family Law Rules and the Rules of Civil Procedure, including filing deadlines.
