The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and effective operation of various pieces of equipment.</p><p></p><p><b>Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Operates heavy equipment safely and efficiently according to relevant legislation, policies, procedures and work plans</li><li>Performs daily safety and maintenance checks</li><li>Cleans heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required</li><li>Ensures heavy equipment is safely and securely stored</li><li>Advises the Superintendent or maintenance department of any requirements for maintenance or repair</li><li>Participates in routine fueling and maintenance</li><li>Practices workplace safety</li><li>May perform other related duties as required</li><li>Heavy Equipment operation may include but is not limited to Dozers, Graders, Backhoe Loaders, Excavators, Loaders, Skid Steer, Packers</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>2+ years’ experience in Heavy Equipment operation</li><li>Must be able to interpret grade stakes, clear, grub, strip, excavate, backfill, ditch, and stockpile</li><li>Able to cut and spread material</li><li>Able to excavate, stockpile, backfill and load with loader</li><li>Able to construct berms, excavate side hills, and finish side slopes</li><li>Able to grade to final grade, finish slopes and mix soil stabilization materials with grader</li><li>Able to perform surface and drainage maintenance</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>Experience in a construction environment or in a similar role </li><li>Familiar with construction terms and practices</li><li>Effective verbal and listening communication skills</li><li>Ability to understand and effectively execute verbal and written directions</li><li>Adheres to company Health, Safety, & Environmental reporting and standard assessments</li><li>Must possess a valid driver’s license</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p></p><p></p><p>Powered by JazzHR</p><p>vF5ZCdDDuq</p></p></p>
