We are proud to offer competitive compensation, a supportive working environment, rewarding career paths and plenty of opportunities for learning and growth.</p><p></p><p>The location in Port Alberni, BC is seeking talent to fill the position of Maintenance Supervisor.</p><p>This job is Permanent and full-time.</p><p></p><p></p><p><strong>Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Motivate the maintenance personnel.</li><li>Determine proper crew for the job, coordinate, and follow-up.</li><li>Be responsible for maintenance in the area assigned.</li><li>Perform safety and quality monitoring of the job.</li><li>Recommend improvements and cost reductions.</li><li>Identify the causes of failures for breakdowns and repetitive repairs.</li><li>Recommend skill levels and training courses for apprentices and journeymen.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Key Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Ability to understand requirements and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.</li><li>Ability to prioritize, make sound decisions, and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.</li><li>Proven analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Strong interpersonal, leadership and time management skills.</li><li>Exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels within the company.</li><li>Ability to work independently and as a team.</li><li>High degree of collaboration with both Maintenance and Operations personnel.</li><li>Working knowledge of Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).</li><li>Excellent computer skills.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technologist or Red Seal trades certification; and,</li><li>Related industry experience.</li><li>Minimum 3-5 yrs of equivalent experience.</li></ul><p></p><p>Salary $100,000 - $115,000 per annum (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience, and internal parity).</p><p></p><p>Domtar is firmly committed to placing greater emphasis on the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion to empower all employees to reach their full potential.
