We are currently seeking a full-time
Corporate Commercial Paralegal
with between 4-7 years direct experience in handling complex commercial business ventures, residential and commercial transactions including purchases, sales, and share and asset transactions.
Duties include:
Handling complex business acquisitions and divestitures (share, asset and hybrid transactions)
Assisting with commercial lending/borrowing files ranging from simple to complex and some second mortgage transactions
Drafting and review of various contracts, shareholders’ agreement, commercial leases, and other business contracts
Preparing transaction closing documents
Managing multiple files and closings for various transactions, preparing reporting books, invoices, etc.
Managing lawyer calendars, scheduling meetings, coordinating workflow to ensure file flows smoothly
About you:
Paralegal Certificate from an accredited post-secondary institution
Between 2 – 10+ years of direct working experience with a focus on corporate-commercial and commercial lending
Familiarity with LTO and PPR documents, registrations, and procedure
Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to exercise good judgement and maintain professionalism
A desire to be involved in the entire transaction from start to finish, to work independently while maintaining extensive contact with the partner and client, and to handle high-volume in a fast-paced environment
