<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>Salary: $25.95 - $29.76 (+10.6% in lieu of vacation and stat holidays)<br /><p>About your role as a Casual On-Call Community Support Worker:</p><p>As an integral part of the Community Living Team, you will support the quality of life for the persons served by ensuring that their physical, social, vocational, educational and medical needs are met. You will also participate in the implementation of all aspects of the participants&#39; program, including agency policies, procedures and philosophy. You will assist residents to live successfully in group settings such as group homes and ensure that their needs are met. You will also help enhance the residents quality of life with activities of daily living and the development of life skills.</p><p><br /></p><p><em>What you will bring: </em></p><ul><li>Enthusiasm, empathy, warmth, and understanding that align with our vision, mission, and values</li><li>Demonstrated ability to advocate, provide personalized support, and teach life skills and self-advocacy skills to participants and families</li><li>Knowledge of theory, values, and practices in community living including support systems</li><li>Ability to work effectively with families, staff, volunteers, and organizations</li><li>Ability to work alone and unsupervised, as well as part of a team</li><li>Ability to perform lifts and transfers of clients</li><li>Effective interpersonal communication skills</li><li>Demonstrated good time and general management skills</li><li>Positive role model, including modeling a healthy lifestyle</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><em>Requirements of the job:</em></p><ul><li>A Community Support Worker Certificate, or equivalent education and experience</li><li>Three months experience delivering similar services supporting individuals with disabilities in community settings</li><li>Valid First Aid and CPR certification</li><li>Valid Food Safety Certification</li><li>You will need to have a driver&#39;s license, a current and satisfactory criminal record search and driver&#39;s abstract, a physicians health reference, a negative TB test</li><li>Experience using Microsoft Office suite, preferred</li></ul><p></p><p><em>Additional information:</em></p><ul><li>This position is open to all qualified individuals and requires Union membership (BCGEU)<br /></li><li>May be required to use personal vehicle</li><li>Successful applicants will be required to obtain a Class 4 driver&#39;s license in order to pass the trial period<br /></li></ul><p><br /></p><p><em>As an equal opportunity employer, we welcome applications from all qualified individuals, including women, Indigenous people, racialized persons, people with disabilities, members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and all those with diverse lived experiences.
