Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will help clients complete their tax returns using Intuit TurboTax products. You will provide tax guidance, review personal tax returns for customers preparing their own returns, perform full-service return preparation, and manage product/software inquiries to support our goal of powering prosperity globally.
  • You will use government websites, professional resources, and team expertise to find the right answer and deliver it in terms the customer will understand.
  • This is a virtual, customer-facing role. You will use our video communication software to interact with customers and document interactions to maintain accurate records.
  • As a tax expert, you have a minimum of two (2) years of paid professional tax preparation experience.
  • You will be required to provide your CRA RepID to enable Represent a Client service upon onboarding.
  • You have experience using professional tax software to prepare and file personal tax returns, including complex elements such as employment, self-employment, rental income, investments, T1135 forms, foreign income, and various credits and deductions.
  • You are fluent in English and French and prepared to work with English- and French-speaking clients from across Canada. You may work a flexible schedule with a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Experience preparing corporate tax returns (T2).
  • Experience preparing Quebec tax returns (TP1).

  • Tax expertise – fundamental understanding of tax laws and concepts. Proactive in seeking ongoing learning to keep up with year-to-year changes.
  • Effective communication – strong written and verbal communication to provide quality service; active listening to understand client needs.
  • Complex problem solving – commitment to understanding client problems and resolving or escalating as appropriate.
  • Research / Resourcefulness – curiosity and continuous learning mindset; comfortable following procedures and researching resources to deliver solutions.
  • Technical acumen – willingness to learn the tools needed for the role and basic troubleshooting abilities.

Compensation & Benefits

Intuit offers a competitive compensation package with a pay-for-performance approach. Base pay ranges vary by location (examples shown for PEI, BC, and Nova Scotia: 24.50 CAD/hour to 33.50 CAD/hour). This position is eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits per applicable plans and programs. Pay is based on factors such as knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Intuit conducts regular pay equity comparisons across ethnicity and gender categories.
