<h3>Overview</h3>
<p>We are seeking an experienced and versatile Associate Counsel to provide a broad range of legal services and strategic advice across various departments and business units within our Canadian operations. This role requires a corporate generalist with strong analytical, contractual, and advocacy skills to support the company’s transactional, commercial, and employment-related legal matters.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Provide legal counsel on transactional and commercial matters, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer contracts, collection, transportation, and disposal agreements, as well as requests for proposals and other commercial arrangements.</li>
<li>Assist with labour and employment matters, including labour arbitrations and employment proceedings before courts and relevant tribunals.</li>
<li>Enforce commercial and municipal contracts to ensure compliance and protect the company’s interests.</li>
<li>Support the resolution of disputes and litigation matters as they arise.</li>
<li>Manage special projects as assigned.</li>
<li>Collaborate with and oversee external legal counsel as needed.</li>
</ul>
<h3>What We Need From You</h3>
<ul>
<li>Juris Doctor (J.D.) with strong academic credentials.</li>
<li>Member in good standing of the Ontario Bar.</li>
<li>2–5 years of experience, either in-house or at a law firm.</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills with a dynamic, team-oriented approach.</li>
<li>Excellent analytical and advocacy skills, with the ability to draft, review, and apply legal advice effectively.</li>
<li>Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.</li>
<li>Proficiency in leveraging technology to enhance the delivery of legal services.</li>
<li>Adaptability and willingness to engage in a diverse range of legal matters.</li>
<li>Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment requirements.</li>
</ul>
