Bleaney Contracting located at 2504 Government St, Unit 101, Victoria, BC, V8T4P7 has a need for 20 permanent and full-time carpenters. Work will be completed in the Greater Victoria Area. Duties • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems • Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware Experience • 2-3 years of rough or finishing carpentry experience as a minimum. • Teaching carpentry at a college would also be accepted • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements an asset Personal Traits • Work Safely and without guidance • Have own tools and transport • Be personable and able to communicate with clients and trades • Have above average problem-solving skills and be able to overcome obstacles on complicated projects • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping habits • Be professional and respectful demeanour with clients, sub-trades, and crew members.
